School District of Milton Case Study

The School District of Milton serves the community of Milton and surrounding areas of Southern Wisconsin. Committed to educational excellence, the district oversees several elementary schools, a middle school, and Milton High School. With a focus on innovative learning, strong community partnerships, and preparation for future success, the district has been a cornerstone of the Milton area for generations.

The Challenge

The School District of Milton contacted Foremost Media with a need to redesign their website to improve functionality, visual appeal, and responsiveness. Their previous website was custom built and the pages were highly templated, not fully serving the needs of their departments from a design standpoint.

Foremost Media’s Strategic Solution

Going into this project, Foremost Media knew to leverage Wordpress, a popular Content Management System (CMS) for schools. This platform inherently allowed us to address the district’s limitations by offering themes such as Divi for customization abilities, simple content management, and visual appeal.

We also implemented fully customizable quick links on the side of every web page, providing the flexibility to regularly update content to be relevant and timely. By using WordPress, we were able to utilize different plugins like an Events Planner to manage the calendar, a Directory Plugin to create staff directory pages, and an AccessiBe Widget to ensure accessibility and ADA compliance.
