ITW Ramset, a business unit of Illinois Tool Works, is a leading provider of gas- and powder-actuated tools and fastening systems for commercial construction. Their partnership with Foremost Media was forged through the need for a website homepage refresh, one aimed at modernizing the design, improving user experience, and aligning the layout with a reference site while maintaining brand consistency.

A Targeted Refresh Where It Matters Most

The project entailed a focus on the areas that shape first impressions and guide navigation: the homepage, header, and footer. We established a staging environment and rebuilt the homepage using a template and design provided by the Ramset team, working collaboratively to implement their vision, improving layout clarity and performance across devices. Core enhancements included the implementation of a hero slider and updated content sections to better showcase products and help users quickly find relevant information.

Improving Navigation Without Reworking Interior Pages

The header and footer were also redesigned to improve navigation, accessibility, and overall usability throughout the site. Since the scope was limited to those primary touchpoints, the interior pages remained as they were, with updates concentrated on the most visible and frequently used areas of the site instead of a full content or page-level redesign. We also conducted thorough quality assurance to ensure design accuracy, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility before deploying the updates to the live site and validating performance.

A More Current Experience with Room to Build On

The site now presents its core navigation and content more clearly, beginning with a rebuilt homepage and more structured header and footer. The homepage leads more clearly, navigation feels considered instead of incidental, and the general experience lines up more closely with the standard set by the brand itself.
