Creating a New Blog Post

1. Navigate to Content management > Blog posts in admin menu
2. Click Add new button in upper right corner
3. Fill in the fields in the Info section [add image nop-blog-post-details.jpg]

   

   1. Title and Body are required fields
   2. Fill in Body Overview - this is what displays on the page listing all your posts. Consider it a summary of your blog post content.
   3. Tags are what your post can be identified by
      1. Tags should be comma separated
   4. Uncheck “Allow comments” if you do not wish to allow commenting and having to moderate comments
   5. Include in sitemap should be checked if you wish to include posts in your sitemap which is recommended
   6. Add start and end dates as needed
   7. Limited to stores - If you have a multi-store NOP install, you can limit the post to specific stores
4. Fill in the SEO section [add image nop-news-articles-blog-seo-settings.jpg]

   

   1. Search engine friendly page name is automatically generated from the post title if you leave it blank, but you can customize that using the format of “the-best-news” where spaces are replaced with hyphens.
   2. Meta title - this displays in the browser tab and is used by search engines. Foremost Media recommends always filling in this information
   3. Meta keywords - this does not carry much weight any longer as most search engines no longer use them
   4. Meta description - fill in field describing page content and limit to a max of 155-160 characters
5. Save your new blog post
