Checkout Attributes

Checkout attributes are displayed on the shopping cart page and provide the opportunity to offer more services to customers, i.e. gift wrapping, before placing the order. Learn more about checkout attributes

Navigate to Catalog > Attributes > Checkout attributes in the admin menu to create a checkout attribute.

Adding a Checkout attribute

  1. Click the “Add new” button in the upper button bar
  2. Toggle the Basic/Advanced button in the upper left to display more options in each of the sections
  3. Attribute Info
    1. Name (required)
    2. Text Prompt - question or a comment that will be displayed in the checkout area on the shopping cart page
    3. Control type - Choose how you display the attributes (Dropdown list, Radio button list, Checkboxes, Textbox, etc)
    4. Display Order - use if you have more than one checkout attribute to determine the order they display
    5. Shippable product required - attribute should only be displayed for the product that needs to be shipped
    6. Tax exempt - checkbox indicates that no tax will be applied to this checkout attribute
    7. Tax category - dropdown list, select the checkout attribute tax category
    8. Limited to stores - enables you to limit the attribute to one or more stores
  4. Adding a new checkout attribute value
    1. You must save a Checkout attribute before adding a new attribute value.
    2. Name - the attribute value name.
    3. Price adjustment - will add the entered amount to a total purchase sum in case the attribute value is selected.
    4. Weight adjustment will change an order weight by the entered amount in case the attribute value is selected.
    5. Pre-selected - checkbox to indicate the attribute value is preselected for a customer.
    6. Display order - display order number of the attribute value.
  5. Condition
    1. A store owner can specify a condition for the checkout attribute to be visible (depending on other attributes). A conditional attribute only appears if the previous attribute is selected.
