Creating a New News Article

1. Navigate to Content management > News items in admin menu
2. Click Add new button in upper right corner
3. Fill in the fields in the Info section [add image nop-news-articles-details.jpg]

   

   1. Title, Short description and Full description are required fields
   2. Uncheck “Allow comments” if you do not wish to allow commenting and having to moderate comments
   3. Add start and end dates as needed
   4. Limited to stores - If you have a multi-store NOP install, you can limit the article to specific stores
   5. Check box whether article is published
4. Fill in the SEO section [add image nop-news-articles-blog-seo-settings.jpg]

   

   1. Search engine friendly page name is automatically generated from the article title if you leave it blank, but you can customize that using the format of “the-best-news” where spaces are replaced with hyphens.
   2. Meta title - this displays in the browser tab and is used by search engines. Foremost Media recommends always filling in this information
   3. Meta keywords - this does not carry much weight any longer as most search engines no longer use them
   4. Meta description - fill in field describing page content and limit to a max of 155-160 characters
5. Save your new news article
