Serving Milton and neighboring areas in Southern Wisconsin, the School District of Milton is dedicated to providing top-quality education, managing multiple elementary schools, a middle school, and Milton High School. They came to us seeking a new site focused on user-friendliness and improved calendar functionality.

WordPress for User Experience

The School District of Milton’s previous site was built on CMS that was not user-friendly, causing problems with the overall design and functionality. One of the first things we did to address this limitation was leverage the CMS WordPress. By offering themes such as Divi for customization abilities, this platform enabled simple content management, enhanced calendar and event navigation, and improved visual appeal for the district’s site.

Calendar and Events Functionality

One of the biggest needs of the district was better calendar functionality, making it easier for the students and parents to find events. Using the plugin Events Manager on WordPress, we were able to implement a calendar with different categories of events, the ability to subscribe to calendars, and admin functions for simple updating of events. Additionally, the district needed an online staff directory, which we were able to create through a Directory plugin, allowing for ease of use in adding staff members, headshots, and applying schools and positions to profiles.

The new website now looks more modern and user-friendly, with a design that better represents the district's branding and commitment to educational excellence. By implementing the CMS WordPress with a Divi theme, the district now enjoys greater flexibility and simplicity in customizing pages and managing content.

Additional features like the Events Planner plugin and a Directory Plugin enhance the site's functionality. The School District of Milton expressed high satisfaction with Foremost Media's attentiveness and dedication to realizing their vision, particularly appreciating the move away from rigid templates to a more customizable design. Overall, these improvements have resulted in a website that significantly enhances the user experience for the entire Milton community.
