Broken links can give users and search engines a bad impression about your website and leave a negative impact on your ranking results.

First, find a backlink tool. In this case, we’ll use AHREFS as an example.

Simply enter your url into the platform’s search engine to render your results and generate your report.

Using your broken links report, identify links on different webpages that are broken. Then you can either delete them or update them.

Next, view your broken backlinks report. Once you’ve identified a broken backlink, you have a few options.

The easiest way to fix a broken backlink is to create a redirect to a relevant working page. Or, you can try to recreate the page using the Wayback Machine as a resource.

Once you fix your broken links and backlinks, you should see your organic traffic on Google begin to increase.
