There’s another way to get your products more exposure within your own site. nopCommerce has built-in functionality for related products and cross-sells, which can be used to offer your customers additional products based on what they view or add to their cart.

Using related products offers benefits such as:

What is a Related Product?

Related products are products that display in a section on a product page. They are set on a product-by-product basis, allowing you to choose what people see in that section of your product page’s design. The design of that section can include an Add To Cart button allowing for easy purchase.

What is a Cross-Sell Product?

Cross-Sell products are products that are often purchased with a selected product. Unlike related products that appear on a product page, cross-sell products appear at the bottom of the checkout page. You can add any number of cross-sell products to a given product.

How Do I Add Related Products?

The Related Products accordion pane is located toward the bottom of the list of product information. 

1. Expand the Related Products accordion pane
2. Click “Add new related product”
3. Use the search options to locate the product you wish to add
4. Check the box next to the name of the product
5. Click the Save button

How Do I Add New Cross-Sells?

The Cross-Sell Products accordion pane is located toward the bottom of the list of product information under the Related Products pane. 

1. Expand the Cross-Sells accordion pane
2. Click “Add new cross-sell product”
3. Use the search options to locate the product you wish to add
4. Check the box next to the name of the product
5. Click the Save button
